“Love & Money” tackles the concept of simplifying life in later years. Cornelia Cunningham is a pampered, wealthy widow. Cornelia is determined to donate most of her possessions and move to a residential community and simplify her life. She has come to believe that money is a detriment to personal development. Her plans hit a snag as her attorney tries to convince her not to be quite so generous. And then to complicate matters even further, an ambitious and ingratiating young man, who might be the grandson she never knew she had, arrives to claim his inheritance. “Love & Money” is an incisive and hysterical portrait of the trials of class, family, legacy, race, and the power of a really good story.
Terri Hoover directs this comedy. The cast consists of several of the Galveston/Houston area’s finest actors: Shawna Glad (Cornelia), Kyle Crawford (Harvey Abel), Dianne Foussac (Agnes Munger), Justin Gonzalez (Walker “Scott” Williams), and Shealynn Goodwin (Jessica Worth).
