As the largest holiday destination in the Southwest, Moody Gardens offers more holiday attractions, activities, festive fun, dining, and hotel packages than you can imagine.

Moody Gardens is open daily  through January 7th. Regular hours are 10am-11pm for Ice Land and 6-11pm for Festival of Lights. Christmas (December 25th) hours are 12 noon-11pm for Ice Land and 6-11pm for Festival of Lights.

Food Drive Thursdays will also offer guests the opportunity to enjoy the Festival at a special discount in recognition of helping those in need this holiday season, especially in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Guests can bring a nonperishable food item every Thursday throughout the Festival and receive a two-for-one admission into Festival of Lights. The food will be donated to the Galveston County and Houston Food Banks.

Ice Land: Rainforest Holiday

Through January 7th

Moody Gardens takes the holidays to a whole new level of cool! A skilled team of master ice carvers has charted your course for your journey through the rainforests of the world to see monkeys, beautiful birds, incredible butterflies, colorful orchids and so many wonderful creatures. Your hosts on this journey are the spectacular leaf cutter ants carrying Christmas lights and other decorations to a magical place. A giant ice slide takes you from the tree tops through to the forest floor, ancient ruins and rivers edge to prepare for the most joyous time of the year. Also be sure to check out Shivers Ice Bar!

Festival of Lights

Through January 7th

Brighten up the holidays with a tradition for families and groups alike. A mile-long trail with more than one million lights and lighted scenes take you around the Moody Gardens property with spectacular views of Galveston Bay. Enjoy the area’s only outdoor skating rink, concession areas with hot chocolate and festive food, holiday buffets, live entertainment, and more. Walk along the Festival of Lights trail and enjoy festival holiday treats like Kettle Corn, Sausage on a Stick, Hot Cocoa, and much more.

Cirque Joyeux Noel Dinner and Show

December 15th-25th

Back by popular demand, this Circus features award-winning performers from NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” and Cirque du Soliel! This holiday season, prepare to be astonished and amazed by circus artists from around the world as Moody Gardens rings in the holidays with Lone Star Circus’ all-new, one-of-a-kind and joyous circus spectacular “Cirque Joyeux Noel Dinner & Show.” This original one-hour Christmas spectacular features a stellar cast of an international circus. You’ll be astounded by the grace and dexterity of contortionists, the inconceivable feats of acrobats, and the amazing artistry of aerialists. Plus, all of this is coupled with a sumptuous Holiday Buffet Dinner prepared by renowned Moody Gardens Executive Chef Felipe Gonzalez. Your ticket to the dinner and show also includes admission to the incredible Moody Gardens Festival of Lights including Santa’s Workshop and a visit with Santa himself. Ice Skating – Glide across the ice on the area’s only outdoor ice rink included with your Festival of Lights admission.

Arctic Slide – Enjoy the fun with a festive glide down the Arctic Slide included with your Festival of Lights admission.

Holiday 3D Films – Enjoy holiday films on the largest screen in Texas!

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 4D – Enjoy the beloved animated television classic as the magic of 4D engages all of your senses. You’ll recognize classic songs and dialogue brought to life by loveable, iconic characters: the Abominable Snow Monster, Hermey the elf, Santa Claus, and of course, Rudolph “the most famous reindeer of all.”

Train Rides – Enjoy the holiday lights and music as the train takes you along a section of the Festival of Lights trail.

Each of these attractions is available as stand along tickets as well as combination tickets for other attractions.

Photos with Santa – Meet Santa and capture the special memory with your keepsake Santa photo. You can walk away for a photo in a variety of sizes.

Holiday Dining

Leave the cooking to someone else, and enjoy a nice dining experience with the whole family at Moody Gardens. Reservations are recommended, but not required. Walk-ins are welcomed. For more info or to make reservations call (800)582-4673 ext. 4238.

December 25th (11am-8pm) – The Garden Restaurant Christmas Day Buffet – The Christmas Buffet includes a delicious assortment of starters, salads, entrees, and more. The soup of the day is Roasted Turkey and Lentils. For starters enjoy cheese, crackers, seasonal fruit, vegetables, and assorted baked breads. Salads include ambrosia, caesar, garden, marinated green beans, spinach, and more. A variety of entrees will be offered including artichoke chicken, herbed and roasted turkey with stuffing, tortilla crusted tilapia, carved roasted beef sirloin, and smoked ham. There will also be traditional holiday accompaniments such as candied yams, rosemary red potatoes, honey-gingered carrots, squash, cranberry relish, and more. The kids can enjoy spaghetti marinara with meatballs, chicken nuggets, and tater tots. Desserts will be a spread of Chef’s holiday pies and cakes. Prices are $27.95 for adults, $19.95 for seniors, $13.95 for children ages 5-12, and children 4 and under are complimentary with an adult purchase.

Value days equal big savings for families. Value days are Sunday-Thursday, through December 14th. On these days save $2 more. Plus, there’s free parking. Value Days hours are 11am-9pm for Ice Land and 6-9pm for Festival of Lights.

Regular Hours are Ice Land: 10am-11pm; Festival of Lights: 6-11pm. Christmas hours on December 25th for Ice Land: 12 noon-11pm; Festival of Lights: 6-11 pm.

Tickets for Ice Land are $26.95 for adults and $21.95 for children and seniors. Tickets for Festival of Lights are $15.95 for adults and $10.95 for children and seniors. Add on attractions after 4pm for Aquarium Pyramid, Rainforest Pyramid, Discovery Museum, Colonel Paddlewheel Boat, MG 3D Theater, 4D Special FX Theater, SpongeBob SubPants Adventure, Ropes Course, Zip Line (with your purchase of a Festival of Lights ticket) are $9 for adults and $7 for children and seniors.
