Galveston Island Humane Society Hosts “Art Of Paws” Brunch Honoring Maureen Mccutchen, September 25th
The Galveston Island Humane Society (GIHS) is hosting a very special “Art of Paws” Brunch, Sunday, September 25, at the Galveston Island Convention Center, from 11:30am -3:30pm. This special fundraiser will honor long-time animal advocate, GIHS board member, and Past President, and valued shelter volunteer – Maureen McCutchen. For more information and to purchase sponsorships and tickets, visit www.galvestonhumane.org, or call the Shelter – at 409.740.1919. All proceeds will benefit the Galveston Island Humane Society.
Since 1999, GIHS has hosted 20 themed-galas to raise money to build and maintain a “home” were lost, abused, unwanted, sick, and needy animals are provided safe, temporary shelter, food, medical treatment, and quality care – until these homeless animals can be adopted into their “forever” home with a loving family.
Last year, our 20th Annual PAWS Gala was scheduled for September 2021 but, due to COVID, was rescheduled and held this past January 15, 2022. As such, it was decided that GIHS would host something new and exciting this September and then be back on schedule for the annual PAWS Gala in the Fall of 2023.
This year, attendees can look forward to an afternoon filled with fun, live music (and dancing), full open bar, an outstanding and beautifully-presented, Brunch buffet… and more – including a Bourbon and Bubbles Wall, Piece de Resistance (aka Golden Ticket), Bid Boards, and a limited Silent Auction. Event co-chairs are Cynthia McEldowney-Parsons, Michelle Beckwith, and Concetta Maceo-Sims.
