Join Maestro Trond Saeverud and the Galveston Symphony Orchestra’s string quartet in the Museum’s 1880s Belgian-designed iron and glass Conservatory for a groundbreaking concert. The string quartet will play selections which evoke the Museum’s world-class collection. Much like Texas and her wide open spaces, Saeverud selected “Pioneering Classics“ as the title of our inaugural concert since, “It gives lots of room, flexibility for both pioneering imagery – and classical music in a broader sense.”

Musicians include Saeverud and Christina LeBlanc on violin, Tom Strauch on viola, and Naldo Posella on the cello. Music will be drawn from crucial periods of Texas history with a few vintage Hollywood themes. Each piece will be accompanied by a brief description of its Texas connection by the Maestro himself!
