January 9th (6-9pm): 2nd Wednesday Open Photo Shoot – Calling all models, makeup artists, hair stylists and photographers. Similar to an open mic, FTHG is hosting Open Photo Shoots on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. This is a free event.
January 18th (7:30pm): Art TALK – For the January 18th ArtTALK, you will meet From the HeART Gallery artists Sheryl Gary Lambert, Morgan Taylor, Christina Youdan-Pfistershammer, Dianne Greeley Campbell-Duggan and Carlos Martinez as well as a guest speaker. This is something brand new to boost your gallery experience to a whole new level. Catherine Stroud and From the HeART Gallery will be hosting. This is a fun interactive event to really get to know the artists.
January 19th (6-9pm): ArtWalk with Jessica Von Braun – World-renowned fantasy artist Jessica Von Braun will be in town for one night only at From the HeART Gallery. She will be painting live 6-9pm. Sold exclusively in Galveston County at From the HeART Gallery, Jessica’s artwork is loved by all and collected by so many. Many of her paintings have been discovered and purchased by Walt Disney World Pop Shop. This is a rare opportunity to have her down here on the Island, so don’t miss your chance to meet her. You can also meet some of the 50+ gallery artists, do some shopping plus have some wine. This is free to attend.
Every Friday (4-7pm): Children’s Art Classes – This is not your average kid class – adults enjoy it too and learn something new each time they come. Your children will be learning Art History, Technique, and Elements and Principles of Art from A-Z. The first 30 minutes of class will be the Art History portion, where your children will get to know all the Masters, as well as the contemporary. We will be going from Primitive Cave art all the way to Andy Warhol. Your children will leave here with new knowledge of the arts, printed handouts of the day’s lessons, and a completed piece of artwork. Pre-registration is preferred.
