From the HeART:
ArtTALK & ArtWalk This Month
From the HeArt is located at 2111 Postoffice St., in Downtown Galveston. From the HeART Gallery (FTHG) has a ton of fun events this month that are free and open to the public.
Every Friday (4-7pm): Children’s Art Classes – This is not your average kid class – adults enjoy it too and learn something new each time they come. Your children will be learning Art History, Technique, and Elements and Principles of Art from A-Z. The first 30 minutes of class will be the Art History portion, where your children will get to know all the Masters, as well as the contemporaries. We will be going from Primitive Cave art all the way to Andy Warhol. Your children will leave here with new knowledge of the arts, printed handouts of the day’s lessons, and a completed piece of artwork. Pre-registration is preferred.
March 7th (7-10pm): First Thursday Open Acoustic Jam and Vegan Pot Luck – Bring your instruments of choice and let’s get that rhythm flowing throughout the gallery and don’t forget your favorite vegan dish to share. All ages welcome. Wine will be available.
March 8th (7:30pm): Art TALK – This is something brand new to boost your gallery experience to a whole new level. Catherine Stroud and From the HeART Gallery will be hosting. You made an impact on every life you touched. Never a bad thing to say, you could brighten up a room with a hug and your sweet smile. For this, and so much more, we want to dedicate this evening to YOU and everything you love.” First, there will be a “For Cats Only” art show for the March 9th ArtWalk and will continue to stay up for 6 weeks. Houston Art Car Klub will be present offering amazing crazy wacky fun art cars. Galveston Island Humane Society will have a “Kitties Only Adopt-a-Thon” this night as well. From the HeART Gallery is a drop off spot for any and all donated cat food, litter, accessories, and toys. They will all be delivered and donated in Montrose’s name. Please email photos to firstname.lastname@example.org so they can have them printed for the event.
