Britt Thomas “Indian Spirit” Opening Jan. 18th at Galveston Arts Center

On view through April 12, 2020 in the Brown Foundation Gallery: Britt Thomas Indian Spirit.  Britt Thomas’ photography exhibition Indian Spirit documents the Port Neches-Groves Indians high school football traditions and community who keep those traditions alive.

Also, the 1878 Gallery & Vault features Amada Miller But then (again). Amada Miller’s exhibition But then (again) includes photographic and video work focusing on the celestial bodies that make seasonal appearances near our planet. These exhibitions will remain on view through April 12, 2020.

Opening March 7th

Galveston Arts Center (GAC) presents Haptic Recordings: The Body Eyes, by New Orleans-based artist Adam Crosson opening Saturday, March 7, 2020, from 6 to 9pm in conjunction with Galveston ArtWalk.

The exhibition includes video and photo-based works that explore the artist’s ongoing research along waterways, including the oxbox lakes of the Mississippi River. This exhibition will remain on view through May 24, 2020.

Exhibitions by Britt Thomas and Amada Miller will continue through April 12, 2020 in GAC’s second floor galleries. 2020 ArtWalks

For over 25 years, the Galveston Arts Center has organized ArtWalk on eight Saturday evenings each year in the heart of Galveston’s historic district. ArtWalk takes place inside existing art galleries (both commercial and non-profit) and other spaces such as cafes and shops that showcase rotating art exhibits.
