February 2nd (6:30pm): Da Beach Ball Presented by Da Krewe du Roux – Join the fun for a night of dinner, dancing, and fundraising for El Mina Shriners of Galveston, Ronald McDonald House of Galveston, and American Heart Association. This will be held at Tremont House, a Wyndham Historic Hotel, 2500 Ships Mechanic Row, Downtown Galveston. Masquerade cocktail hour is 6:30-7:30pm (partial mask required). February 9th (1-5pm): Krewe of Gambrinus Float Barn Den Party – Come to the Float Barn for fun activities, line dancing, dinner, drinks and see the float you will be riding. Tickets are $25 for non krewe members and guests. This is held at the Float Barn at 44th and Ave. G, Galveston. Come out and sneak a peek at the floats! February 15th (7-9pm): Menardi Gras at the 1838 Menard House – Celebrate Mardi Gras 2019 at the site of the island’s first celebration of the annual fest in 1853, the Michel B. Menard House! Join Galveston Historical Foundation for a night of food, fun, music, and frivolity at Galveston’s oldest residence. Tickets include access to beverages, heavy hors-d’oeuvres, and a live New Orleans brass band. Tickets are limited and advance reservation is required. Mardi Gras is all about dressing for a great time. They recommend something festive (costumes are always welcomed) and fun. The event will be held outside so please keep that in mind when deciding. There will be heaters installed under the tent. Tickets are $55-$90 and available at eventbrite.com. Menard House is located at 1605 53rd St., Galveston.

February 24th, March 3rd (11am-2pm): Mardi Gras Brunch at Hotel Galvez – Sunday Brunch at Hotel Galvez takes on a Mardi Gras flair during the carnival season featuring a rotation of New Orleans inspired menu items such as jambalaya, etouffee, boudin, and bread pudding, along with many of the standard brunch favorites. According to OpenTable users, Galvez Bar & Grill is one of 100 Best Brunch Restaurants in America for five years running. Sunday Brunch features a huge seafood display, made-to-order-omelets, waffle station, pasta bar, carving station with two options, an array of sides and entrees as well as a hallway full of desserts. Brunch is $44.99 for adults; $39.99 for seniors and $26.99 for children (ages 6-11). Advance reservations are recommended and available through Open Table or calling (409)515-2145.

March 2nd (12 noon-12 midnight): The Ultimate Balcony Party at the Z Krewe’s Headquarters – You could be throwing beads to the crowd and viewing the parades from our balcony at the Ultimate Party Headquarters. Get above the jam-packed madness and prepare for the best Mardi Gras balcony party on the Strand held by Z Krewe of Galveston! The party price includes a full open bar, dancing, heavy appetizers, light lunch, dinner, snacks, water, and soft drinks. Time is guaranteed on the balcony for bead throwing through balcony rotation plan. You can bring your own throw beads or buy them at the party. Fat Tuesday “Mardi Gras! Galveston” Parade:

“Parrots, Pirates & The Blaggards,” Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Starting at 6:30pm, come celebrate Fat Tuesday and close out the 2019 Mardi Gras season. “Parrots, Pirates & The Blaggards” is the theme. The Party Parrot’s Pirate Ship Mardi Gras Galveston Parade is hosted by Scarlett Macaw.

The Fat Tuesday Grand Parade is the final parade for the Mardi Gras Season and begins staging at 4:30 pm next to the Galveston Railroad Museum on Santa Fe between 25th and 28th. There is a 2-hour window to complete check-in, select your rider spot, organize your beads for faster throwing and photo opts for the Krewe.

This event leaves promptly at 6:30pm for the final route thru the Galveston Strand District.

This event hosts live parrots and appropriate Pirate or Mardi Gras attire is expected.  Zsa Zsa’s Party Parrots are a troupe of exotic performing birds that have been performing since 1977 and are located in Houston, Texas. Zsa Zsa, the star of the show, is the barbie-doll of the bird world. From Fiesta to Formal, Western to Medieval, Safari to Southern Belle, Zsa Zsa has it all.

Musical talent playing live on board the pirate ship will be The Blaggards.

Tickets are available at eventbrite.com for $125. As always, walkers are free and are encouraged for direct crowd participation. 100% of all proceeds benefit caphouston.org Building Fund.
