Summer Camps at Galveston Children’s Museum

Summer at the Galveston Children’s Museum is almost here, and families are already filling our camp roster as they finalize summer plans. Some of our most popular hands-on camps, including Robotics, Sewing, Cooking, and both Creator Camps, are especially limited due to supplies, equipment, and small-group instruction, and spots are disappearing quickly!

We are also thrilled to announce the return of our Inclusion Camp for children with special needs for its second year. What began as an important step toward creating more accessible opportunities for families has grown into one of the programs we are most proud of. Seeing children build confidence, friendships, and creativity in a space designed for them reminds us why this work matters so deeply.

Whether your child wants to build, cook, design, create, or explore, this summer is shaping up to be one of our most exciting yet. Read on for camp details, upcoming events, and ways your family can be part of a summer filled with curiosity, creativity, and connection.

Summer Camps are Filling Up Fast

Summer Camp season begins Friday, May 29th at the Galveston Children’s Museum, and we are ready for a summer filled with creativity, exploration, and hands-on fun.

Whether you’re planning ahead for the school break or looking for meaningful activities while family is visiting the island, our camps are designed to create unforgettable summer memories for children of all ages.

Several camps are already filling quickly, especially our specialty camps with limited enrollment and materials.

One of the things we are most excited about this year is that many of our camp themes were chosen by the campers themselves!

We listened to what kids wanted to learn more about and built camps around their interests and curiosity. From Robotics and Cooking to Sewing and Creator Camps, campers won’t just sit and listen, they’ll build, experiment, create, and explore through hands-on learning experiences designed to spark confidence and imagination.

This summer, campers will also have opportunities to meet guest speakers and experts in the field, including artists, makers, and professionals from a variety of careers and creative fields.

Our camps are designed to give children opportunities to create, experiment, and build confidence through real hands-on experiences.

If your child is ready for a summer filled with creativity, discovery, and unforgettable experiences, now is the time to reserve your spot.

GCM Inclusion Camp is Back

We are proud to announce that the Galveston Children’s Museum Inclusion Camp for children with special needs is returning for its second year this July. Space is intentionally limited to help us provide a supportive experience for every camper.

What began as an effort to create a more welcoming and accessible summer experience for families quickly became one of the programs closest to our hearts.

For many caregivers, finding a safe, engaging, and supportive summer program can be incredibly difficult, and we are honored to once again provide a space where children can learn, explore, and simply have fun being themselves.

This year’s camp will take place at Moody Methodist Church, giving us additional space while still bringing the same hands-on creativity, exploration, and joyful learning experiences families have come to expect from the Galveston Children’s Museum.

Campers will participate in interactive activities, sensory experiences, creative projects, and opportunities to build friendships in an encouraging environment designed with their needs in mind. Because programs like this remain limited across our area, we are especially excited to continue offering this opportunity to families throughout Galveston County and beyond.

Families with questions are encouraged to email us at info@galvestoncm.org.
