Cooking Class: French Comfort Foods! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Mes amies, Chef Bailey is back to teach you classic French comfort food dishes! You will learn to make a rich & golden French onion soup topped with toasted cheese. Next you will prepare a savory shallot, shiitake mushroom and gruyere clafoutis. You will learn to prepare poulet en crapaudine (chicken served toad-style or more commonly referred to as the spatchcock technique!) and perfectly roast chicken with 40 cloves of garlic, an impressive main dish! Finally class wraps up with everyone making fresh berry and Nutella crepes for dessert! Très magnifique!

Cooking Class: Easter Treats! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Chef Toni Lynch will teach you how to whip up trays of Pinterest-worthy Easter treats! Learn the technique to transform fresh strawberries into adorable “carrots”, bake cute-as-a-button bunny biscuits, make an Easter bunny bread bowl filled with savory roasted carrot hummus and create “hatching chicks” deviled eggs! We’ll also discuss and examine best practices for peeling boiled eggs (hello!)! This eggstravagant Easter spread will make all your holiday guests smile!

Cooking Class: Gettin’ Figgy With It! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Chef Bailey Glover can’t resist a ripe fig and neither should you! Celebrate all things figgy right before the official fig season gets underway! Start by baking wheels of creamy brie wrapped in flaky pastry and smothered in fig preserves. Next learn to make a fresh leafy salad splashed with a homemade champagne vinaigrette, topped with sliced figs and a medallion of toasted goat cheese. We’ll teach you how to prepare a delicious fig chutney served over savory roasted pork – a classic pairing. Finally, bake a light and airy fig clafoutis. Come get figgy with us!

Cooking Class: Tea Time! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! It’s tea time! Chef Bailey Glover will teach you a medley of classic treats to accompany a great cup of tea! You will learn to prepare addicting fresh herb goat cheese truffles. Next, learn to make a trio of tasty finger sandwiches: chickpea of the sea salad, curried shrimp salad and grape-walnut chicken salad. You will also prepare a cool green gazpacho soup. Finally, we’ll wrap up the class by baking light and fluffy lemon cupcakes piped with homemade strawberry buttercream frosting. We’ll sample several premium Tea Forte tea blends in real tea cups! Pinkies up everyone!

Chef Mary Bass and her bartending sister Kat Eisenhour both took home Galveston.com‘s Best of Galveston honors so they’ve teamed up to teach you tasty taco & tequila pairings! This dynamic duo will show you how to make mojito marinaded pork taquito with fresh mango guacamole paired with a fruity mango margarita! Next, you will learn to make a Baja shrimp taco paired with a grapefruit & lime paloma (Mexico’s most beloved cocktail!)! For the third and final dish, you will learn to prepare a 2-layer beef tostada tower featuring ancho chilis, refried balck beans, quick-pickled radish & red onion and raspberry chipotle crema. This toastada is paired with a gorgeous pomagranate raspberry margarita! Interested? Andale!

Cooking Class: All About Latitudes & Attitudes: Gulf Seafood! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Gulf seafood is all about latitudes & attitudes! Chef Mary Bass will be joined by Katie’s Seafood Market who will show you how to properly filet a fish! You will learn to pan-fry a herb flour dusted vermilion snapper and serve it over a nest of spiralized fresh spring veggies. Next, learn to make blackened shrimp presented on over warm corn griddle cakes and topped with green tomatillo salsa. Finally, we’ll end the class on a sweet note by making meyer lemon cake infused with homemade mint simple syrup with a dollop of chantilly cream on top! We love living and eating on the gulf coast!

Chef Bailey Glover and our friends at 2 Row Distributing, purveyors of fine craft beers, will help you throw summer parties with delicious food & craft beer full of seasonal flavors! Each class will be held at 6:30PM on a Wednesday. Sign up for one or the entire series!

May 10: At Home Happy Hour! Chef Bailey will teach you how to prepare a sublime happy hour menu perfect for entertaining at home! You will learn to make savory sausage homemade southern biscuit bites, German-style beer-braised brats & onions, bacon roasted Brussel sprouts and for dessert, sweet heat sautéed peaches with spicy pepper jam glaze over pound cake topped with creamy vanilla ice cream! You will sample three seasonal craft beers thanks to our friends Two Row Distributing!

 

May 17: Fiesta Street Party! Chef Bailey will teach you dishes with Tex Mex flare! Learn to make tasty beer queso fundido with crispy homemade tortilla chips, savory skirt steak street tacos with cool & creamy avocado salsa, skillet Mexican street corn and decadent white chocolate dipped Coconut lime macaroons for dessert! Wash it down with seasonal craft beers from our friends Two Row Distributing!

 

May 24: Backyard BBQ! Chef Bailey will get you out of your BBQ rut by teaching you a slew of tasty new dishes! Start by learning a trio of fun hummus from scratch (roasted jalapeno lime, spicy black bean & balsamic caramelized onion) with homemade pita chips, “grilled” beer chicken sliders smothered with bacon jam, sautéed potatoes and chorizo and coffee ice cream sundaes with a ridiculously homemade salted peanut butter caramel sauce! Seasonal craft brews will sampled thanks to our friends at Two Row Distributing!

Cooking Class: Wild Game Workshop! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Are you game for a wild game cooking class? Chef Mary Bass will teach you how to prepare fantastic dishes with some uncommon ingredients! Start by learning to make savory ground venison sliders topped with a garden fresh kale pesto. Next, you will saute Brussels sprouts in wild boar bacon and pan sear gulf white fish from Katie’s Seafood in a dijon buerre blanc sauce. Both will be plated on a bed of creamy wild mushroom risotto. For dessert, we’ll stack skillet sweet corn cornbread with fresh berries and whipped cream to create the ultimate southern shortcake. Things are going to get a little wild at The Kitchen Chick!
