Galveston is hosting a sock & underwear drive for local school children. While gently used school uniforms can be found for the students, one of the great needs for some families is socks, underwear, & bras.

In exchange for a new, unopened package of socks or underwear, or a $10+ gift card to Target or Walmart, you will receive free admission to either the Railroad Museum, the Children’s Museum, or the Bryan Museum on August 31.

You may attend all three museums, but a new package of socks, underwear or a gift card must be brought to each museum for each free admission you wish to receive.

Water Wheel Rounds – Hit Songwriters Show

Join us for this Water Wheel Round Hit Songwriters Show and listen to hit songs and their stories played by the people who actually wrote them like Wood Newton and Paul Jefferson. Newton wrote the classic Corvette hit song “Riding with Private Malone” and Jefferson is a number one hit writer who has co-written hits with country star Keith Urban. They will be joined by Nashville writer Joe Hash and Bowling Green writer Dan Modlin in an acoustic, listener-friendly show.
