Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe: Caleb Caudle @ Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe
Oct 24 @ 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Caleb Caudle would like to invite you to his performance on Thursday October 24th at Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe at 8pm.

Caleb recently released his fresh take on the Hank Williams classic, ‘Howlin’ At The Moon’ via American Songwriter. Recorded at the legendary Cash Cabin Studio, built by Johnny Cash in 1979 in Hendersonville, TN, this track features the incredible Mickey Raphael on harmonica and outlaw country queen Elizabeth Cook. It was dubbed the top Rolling Stone Country’s 10 Best Country and Americana Songs to Hear Now. It is also featured on Sirius XM’s Outlaw Country and the Songpickr: Best Songs 2019 Playlist. You can listen on Spotify and Apple Music or download on SoundCloud

Caleb Caudle premieres Howlin’ At The Moon today via
American Songwriter. “I had the honor of making a new record at the legendary Cash Cabin Studio, built by Johnny Cash in 1979. It was all made possible by the support and generosity of my fans. I knew I wanted to do something special just for them, apart from the album, so I threw out the idea of cutting this classic Hank Williams song. The playful lyrics drew me in, and I wanted to put a down-home funky groove on it. We ditched the headphones to play live together, and by the end of the second take, the great Dennis Crouch looked over at me with a smile on his face and said, “I’ve never played it like that before!”. His reaction told me
we not only captured some kind of magic, but we were able to honor the song while bringing new energy to it. To have the incredible Mickey Raphael play on this track was a dream
come true, I can’t remember a time when I didn’t know the sound of his harmonica. Elizabeth Cook is a songwriting hero of mine, and one of my favorite humans. The addition of her rich,
pure vocal really brightens the song. Working with legends, heroes, and friends made the whole session feel loose and easy. It was the most fun I’ve ever had in the studio and I hope
that comes across in Howlin’ At The Moon.” Caleb Caudle

Rolling Stone Country dubbed “Howlin’ At The Moon” one of the 10 Best
Country and Americana Songs to Hear Now.
“Backed by harmonica ace Mickey Raphael and outlaw country queen Elizabeth Cook,
Caleb Caudle revives an old Hank Williams song from 1951, slowing down the tempo to a
funky strut and replacing the original’s emphasis on pedal steel guitar with plenty of honking
harp. Recorded during the sessions for his 2020 follow-up to Crushed Coins, the song was
tracked at Cash Cabin Studio, lending some old-school cred to a new-school arrangement.”

9am-1pm (October-May)

at The Bryan Museum – Galveston (1315 21st St)
year-round

*There is always live music and activities/information offered by one of our many Community Partners, whether it’s Rosenberg Library, Galveston Island State Park – Texas Parks and Wildlife, Galveston Sports Massage, facepainting or beyond…

*Products typically available include: kombucha, fresh bread, hand-roasted coffee, teas/salves/tinctures, olive oil, baked goods, salsa, jams, fresh eggs & meats and fresh produce. All GOFM markets utilize only LOCAL vendors selling foods they grow or make themselves, which means at certain times of year we have very little produce because our local farmers have very little harvest (ie if it has rained a great deal, or the middle of summer, immediately after several days of freeze, etc.)
