Every Monday (1-3pm): Life Drawing Studio – Drawing the human figure from a live model is the foundation of nearly all studio art programs. If you have an interest in portrait painting, character design, comics/manga, game design, illustration, animation, fashion design, medical illustration, or just learning to “see” like an artist, this is for you! Live models pose for short “gestures” and longer poses of up to 90 minutes. Sessions are $15 and 3-month passes are available for $100.

At GAC, Art Club lets creative kids in grades 3-8 (or about ages 9-14) build their skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and more. Instructors focus on expanding students’ experience of art beyond the K-8 curriculum, introducing novel techniques, tools, concepts, and inspiration from the contemporary art world, including GAC’s rotating exhibitions.
The Fall Semester cost is $180 or $150 for members which include 15-week course. The Spring Semester cost is $240 or $200 for GAC members for the 2-week course. Individual classes are available for $20 each – start at any time.
Every Tuesday (4:15-5:45pm): Art Club for Kids is with Jessica Ninci. Every Wednesday (2:30-4pm): Art Club for Homeschooled Kids is with Amber Kaiser.

Every Tuesday (6-8pm): Ceramic Studio – Learn hand-building techniques in pottery, figurative sculpture, and glazing with earthenware clay. Create sculptural relief tiles, full 3-D sculpture, functional pottery and tableware, figures, and more. This course uses ancient methods that don’t require a potter’s wheel, including coil construction and slab-construction. Students will learn how to securely join corners and handles, make lids fit properly, and various kinds of surface treatments, textures, and glazes. Fees are $50 for two sessions or $75 for four sessions. Join at any time!

November 6th, 13th and 20th (5:30-7:30pm): Printmaking Studio – Taught by Amber Kaiser, these classes are for ages 14 to adults. In this three-week session, learn several ways to create a one-of-a-kind print, including how to manipulate ink directly on Plexiglass®, and run multiple prints over the same paper to create different combinations of designs. Bring sketches and/or reference material for the first session of each class. All basic materials are provided; advanced material recommendations come with instructions. All levels welcome; no experience necessary. All techniques can be applied without advanced drawing skills. Class course is $75.

Every Thursday in December (5:30-7:30pm): Fiber Arts Studio – Explore the rich world of fiber art with local artist and fashion designer Rachael Montemayor. Make wearable art and décor from wool, silk, linen, driftwood, and repurposed materials using techniques like wet felting, weaving, crocheting, and knotting. Experimentation is encouraged; your work will be as unique and personal as your own ideas! As sessions go on, students will especially enjoy mixing techniques within a single item to add interest and texture, or incorporating unexpected elements that are recycled, found or deconstructed. A large supply of natural fibers and textiles are available during class. You may also purchase your own materials through the instructor or her recommended sources. This class is for ages 13 to adult. All levels welcome; no experience necessary. All Basic materials are provided; more advanced materials recommendations will be given in class. Cost is $25 per day and materials are provided. There are no classes in November.

This is NOT your average kid class….adults enjoy it too and learn something new each time they come
HERE, your children will be learning Art History, Technique, and Elements & Principles of Art from A-Z!
The first 30 minutes of class will be the Art History portion, where your children will get to know all the Masters, as well as the contemporary. We will be going from Primitive Cave art all the way to Andy Warhol.
Your children will leave here with new knowledge of the arts, printed handouts of the day’s lessons, and a completed piece of artwork.
We will go through ALL mediums, some will messier than others, and some will leave permanent stains. I will supply smocks for everyone, but be sure to drop off your kids with play clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, just in case
Classes will be every Friday, 4-7pm, which gives parents a perfect opportunity to take advantage of the shops and restaurants right next door to the gallery :)
Pre-registration is preferred, but we also take walk-ins.
