Thanksgiving weekend Hotel Galvez invites guests and the community to celebrate the start of the holidays with the Official City of Galveston Holiday Lighting Celebration on Friday, November 29th. Festivities begin at 6pm and include a special appearance by Santa Claus, live holiday entertainment by local entertainers including the Galveston Ballet, and the lighting of the hotel’s 35-foot Christmas Tree on the front lawn.

November 30th (9am): RCC’s Turkey Trot 5K & Fun Run – Get active this Thanksgiving weekend with RCC’s first Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run! This event benefits the Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County and its services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The route begins at 45th Street and will continue down the Seawall to 24th Street and back. The $50 per runner registration fee supports the services that RCC provides.
