Japanese Folk Art Workshop (August 5-8)
You can learn to do Taiguruma, a historic folk art from Niigata, Japan, during this 31⁄2-day workshop hosted by the Galveston Art League.

All materials are provided as artist Motoyuki Noguchi guides you in the creation of a traditional fish-cart lantern or watermelon-slice lantern made of wood, bamboo, and special paper. $115. Register and pay via the “Workshops” tab at GalvestonArtLeague.com.
