  • Walking tour with Kathleen Maca. 9-10:30 PM Photo transfer and painting in GAC’s Studio classroom

GAC is collaborating with Kathleen Maca, local author, photographer, and historian, for an evening where history lingers in the shadows and stories echo through the streets. Begin with a twilight walking tour along the Strand, where you’ll hear haunting tales of Galveston’s most storied spirits; figures who once walked the same cobblestones, now remembered in whispers.

As your tour comes to a close at the steps of Galveston Arts Center, you’ll join your teaching artist in the studio to create an artwork that captures the night’s ghostly encounters. Using a historic photograph of the W.L. Moody Building, you’ll learn to transfer the image onto a wood panel, then paint spectral figures into its windows; phantoms pulled from the stories still drifting through the island air.
