Enroll your budding chef in The Kitchen Chick’s Summer Camps!
These classes will immerse your child in a safe, educational & entertaining world of food and feed their interest in cooking! Students will learn different cooking techniques, discuss nutrition/healthy eating and practice food/kitchen safety in these deliciously hands on, interactive and encouraging lessons! Your child’s kitchen confidence will skyrocket!
Each camp is 4 days in length, held 1PM-4:30PM, limited to 12 students (7-14 years) and led by dynamic duo of certified teachers. Campers should arrive having already eaten lunch, wearing closed-toe shoes and long hair secured back. The Kitchen Chick will provide aprons for each child to wear and all supplies and tools. Each student will receive all recipes prepared during their session on their last day of camp.
Registration Information:
Children can register for any number of weeks during the summer – pick one or two weeks, or sign up for all seven! The cost for each one-week (4-Day: Monday, Wednesday-Friday) session is $300 per camper. The Kitchen Chick offers a $25 discount when enrolling a sibling in the same session. Each session can accommodate up to 12 campers. Payment due in full at time of registration.
Session Information:
Session 5: Sweet & Savory Science! Campers will learn the science behind some of their favorite foods! Menu includes: grilled citrus-marinated fajitas wrapped in homemade tortillas; creamy chocolate swirled cheesecake; crunchy granola parfait layered with ripe berries and sweet yogurt made from scratch; hand-stretched personal pizzas topped with pepperoni and homemade ricotta cheese; real fruit gummy bears from scratch; authentic hand-rolled sushi; delicious poached eggs cooked using three different techniques; fresh popcorn balls made with homemade marshmallow cream; and campers will conduct our famous chocolate chip cookie experiment each day!

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Chef Mary Bass will teach you to make over-the-top delicious tacos & nacho dishes! You will learn to make homemade tortillas filled with smokey chipotle pork tacos topped with a grilled pineapple salsa! Next, you will prepare savory sweet potato and black bean tacos drizzled with roasted corn crema and quick pickled jalapeno & red onion. Next, we’ll make a big batch of skillet nachos studded with spicy shrimp & chorizo sausage and topped with fresh pico. Finally, we’ll end the class on a sweet note by frying up sweet bunuelos and making a horchata caramel dipping sauce from scratch. So many tacos we couldn’t contain them to Tuesday!

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Chef Toni Lynch will introduce you to the world of sweet & savory tarts! You’ll learn her perfect pie dough recipe – the full-proof foundation for all of her delectable tarts! You will make a hazelnut, pear and gorgonzola tart drizzled in sweet honey. Next, you will learn to make a roasted garlic and caramelized onion tart topped with a spicy tomato bacon jam! Finally, we’ll end the class on a sweet note by mastering a classic Meyer lemon tart topped with chantilly cream! Our tart class is sweet, savory & completely addicting!

Menu includes: light & fluffy Dutch baby pancakes with fresh berry syrup; honey butter chicken biscuits from scratch; freshly baked cheddar & jalapeño scones; tasty Cajun eggs benedict; Nutella filled homemade cinnamon rolls; traditional Czech fruit-filled kolaches; crispy Canadian bacon & chive potato hash; refreshing summer fruit smoothies; homemade on-the-go granola bars; hand-stretched south of the border breakfast pizzas; and tasty breakfast tacos on homemade tortillas and fresh & chunky salsa!

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Join Chef Mary under the Tuscan sun for an authentic Italian meal! We’ll start by learning to make a classic panzanella salad full of garden grown tomatoes and fragrant herbs. Next, we’ll teach you to make pasta from scratch. We’ll cook our fresh pasta and toss it with calamata olives, mushrooms, ripe tomatoes, spinach and artichokes. We’ll create a homemade white wine and pesto cream sauce for the dish and finish it with sauteed gulf shrimp. Finally, we’ll bake a rustic Tuscan apple cake and enjoy it warm with goat cheese & fig ice cream made locally at Hey Mikey’s. Throughout the night we’ll sample wines from Haak Winery. Mama mia, this is going to be a delizioso class!

The NCM’s Museum in Motion heads to the coastal region of Seattle, Washington in July of 2017 for an adventure filled 3 days / 4 night stay at a 5-star resort. Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Buttery, flaky, and tender – the hallmarks of a great biscuit! Join Chef Mary Bass and learn to master the art of baking big southern biscuits! She will teach you her biscuit basics plus you will make a seasonal fruit jam from scratch and a compound butter! Depending on which day you attend, you will also learn to make two gravies: homestyle sausage and creamy white; or crispy chicken fried chicken honey sammies (ssshhhhh they’re better than What-A-Burger!)!
