The technique of acrylic pour painting uses acrylic paints, mixed with a pouring medium, to create fun and imaginative works of art The joy of the project is that the artist has very little control of the outcome and learns to relish the result of the magical blending of color as it hits the canvas. In this workshop, we will explore various methods of pouring, the use of simple household items to create a variety of effects on the canvas, and the effect of heat on the painted canvas. The physics of pigment weight and heat also makes this project scientific as well as artistic; therefore, regardless of which side of your brain is the strongest, there is something to enjoy in this workshop.
The instructor will provide all the materials necessary for attendees to leave with two pour paintings. Please, bring your enthusiasm and love of color and design and leave with two new paintings to hang or use as gifts. You will need something to protect your clothing and a hairdryer will help dry the painting and bring out the colors.
Cost: $30. Registration is required.
