Galveston Women’s Conference rescheduled for Oct. 8th

The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce has rescheduled the 13th Annual Galveston Women’s Conference to October 8th, 2020, as a part of the chamber’s coronavirus response planning.

Actress and model Brooke Shields, improviser and best-selling author Judi Holler, and experts from UTMB Health confirmed their attendance for the new date on August 28.

“This was not an easy decision but it’s the right decision”, said Gina Spagnola, president and chief executive officer at the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce. “We are so thankful to all of the healthcare professionals worldwide, especially here on Galveston Island at UTMB Health, for working tirelessly to combat COVID-19.”

The chamber made the decision to exercise an abundance of caution and protect the health and well-being of the attendees, vendors, speakers, and staff as encouraged by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Now, more than ever, we need this event,” expressed Spagnola. “This will be a time to come together and celebrate the mind, body, and spirit. We are looking forward to celebrating as a community.”

The Galveston Women’s Conference, a one-day conference aimed to empower women and ignite the entrepreneurial spirit, attracts over 1,000 participants from across the region. The event features an expo that showcases an extensive range of health and wellness products and services, jewelry, clothing, and other merchandise.

The 13th Annual Galveston Women’s Conference is from 8:30am-5pm, at Moody Gardens Convention Center on Galveston Island. For more information, call (409)763-5326 or visit galvestonwomensconference.com.
