The Old Quarter Songwriter Festival celebrates the craft of songwriting in an intimate listening-room setting where lyrics take center stage. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the Texas folk tradition or discovering the magic of songwriter showcases for the first time, this weekend promises heartfelt performances, acoustic brilliance, and a gathering of kindred spirits.

Join us as we honor the voices behind the music — raw, real, and rooted in truth. This is more than just a music festival; it’s a tribute to the stories that connect us all.

The Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe, a venue with a rich history in the folk and Americana music scene, produces the festival. Originally established in Houston, the Old Quarter has been a significant part of Texas music culture since the 1960s, hosting legendary artists like Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark. After a brief closure, it reopened in Galveston in the mid-1990s and has continued to be a vital space for live music.
