There’s a lot going on at the Galveston Naval Museum this month. When you visit the Galveston Naval Museum, you will be immersed in the National Heritage.
Explore these historic WWII vessels on a self-guided tour or with one of the veteran tour guides. Capture the experience as a predator patrolling underwater in the Pacific, or as the protector of Allied forces in the North Atlantic.
Gain a unique memory of being on the USS Cavalla, a World War II submarine that sank a Japanese aircraft carrier involved in the Pearl Harbor attacks; or the USS Stewart, the only Edsall-class destroyer escort preserved in the United States.
Executive Director’s Exclusive Tours
Every Thursday (1pm): An Executive Director Tour is a behind the scene tour of the USS Stewart DE-238 and USS Cavalla SS-244. During the Executive Director Tour, you’ll hear how the ship and submarine at Seawolf Park participated during significant milestones in World War II History. They will open spaces usually locked during business hour to learn how sailors in our World War II history lived and worked onboard the ship and submarine. The Executive Director Tour is a 3 to 4-hour tour limited to 1 group of 10 people. This tour is intended for World War II History enthusiasts.
